Setup of Linux VMs¶
Linux server platforms use SSH protocol for remote access. To generate SSH key, navigate to SSH keys section and click Add key. In the opening dialog window you need to specify the SSH key pair name and click Create SSH key. Then, save private part of the key to the local machine. When launching the instance, enter the generated key.
To access, use the following command:
ssh –i <private_key> ec2-user@<host>
Similar to setup of Windows VMs, permit external access via SSH protocol (port 22).
VM snapshot should be purposely prepared for automatic setup of SSH server part. All Linux server platform snapshots provided by CROC’s Virtual Data Center support this functionality.
